Notes Browser is intended to help you take notes and schedule dates and events. This application will run from the System Tray. Its core element is a calendar to which you may attach events. In addition, you will be able to take notes using a very complete text editor. This application is also capable of storing many different types of data, such as to-do lists, music playlists, addresses and bookmarks. It is also possible to configure plugins, for instance, there is Pizza Timer, which will play a given music file when the set time is over, or Do Next, which will display the next to-do element in a list.
The interface is quite complex and replete with elements, some of which are redundant or unnecessary. Nevertheless, it is very customizable. You will be able to drag the panels to the desired position or use a layout template. Additionally, you can change the visual appearance by using skins.
It may seem paradoxical, but in my opinion this program’s sophistication is its main weakness. I cannot deny that this program is very well-documented, with an excellent user guide and even a tutorial. However, I do not see the necessity of making a utility with such a simple task so difficult to use.
- It is highly customizable
- It is well-documented
- It can manage many types of data
- It is unjustifiably difficult to use
